We had a choice to make. Build another social network with friend requests, feeds, and all that complexity? Or build something simple that just works? We chose simple. Share a link. Show a QR code. That's it. Parents scan your code at the rink. Coaches text you their link. Connection requests come in, you approve or decline, done. No friend suggestions. No "people you may know." No algorithm deciding who sees what. Just the connections you need to share schedules and coordinate ice time. Because the last thing anyone needs is another social network. The rink is social enough - Rinkly just needs to handle the scheduling.
What's New
- Built connection system - link coaches, parents, and skaters
- Implemented QR code sharing - scan to connect at the rink
- Created shareable links - text or email your connection link
- Added approve/decline flow - you control who connects with you
- Kept it simple - no social feed, no friend suggestions, just connections
